Since 2008, the BHFF has been a leading cultural event, showcasing powerful films that celebrate Black history, culture, and storytelling. In 2026, we are proud to announce a new partnership with the Oakland International Film Festival (OIFF) to bring this national movement to the Bay Area.

The Oakland edition of the festival will feature:
🎬 Film Screenings from Black filmmakers across the globe
🎤 Panel Discussions with artists, activists, and community leaders
🌟 Special Events highlighting Oakland’s legacy of culture and resistance
🤝 Networking opportunities for filmmakers, creatives, and industry leaders
